About

Leanne Buckley graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati in 1999. In 2000, she started her professional career as an illustrator as a freelance artist for White Wolf Publishing. That first project launched their Exalted line of role-playing games and led to other freelance illustration assignments for the company, including Vampire: the Masquerade.

In addition to her freelance illustrations through White Wolf, she has worked for a number of both large and small press publishers in the entertainment industry including: Mattel, Inc., DC Comics, Wizards of the Coast, Paizo Publishing, White Wolf Publishing, Key 20 Publishing, Image Comics, Catalyst Game Labs, etc. On occasion, she has performed graphic design work related to business logos for additional companies, too.

From 2005 through 2009, Leanne worked as a Senior Artist for a video game developer named Human Head Studios, which is located in Madison, Wisconsin. Her position entailed concept design and various artistic functions that were necessary to create art for the studio’s titles. These titles included video games, card games and roleplaying games, including Villainy! which was published in 2006 and Normal, Texas.

Currently, Leanne continues to explore freelance illustration options within the entertainment, gaming, book and comic publishing industries. She is also seeking a full-time position as an illustrator or a concept design artist.

Leanne is best known for her artistic versatility. She is able to illustrate the same concept or figure in almost any style, ranging from art nouveau to futuristic and everything in between. Additionally, she has experienced success as a freelancer because of her ability to provide a wide range of character design to fit the requirements of the licensed properties she has worked for.
